This one makes up for the nerd photo. This is from senior prom. THE GIRAFFE WAS NOT MY DATE!!!!!!  Posted by Picasa

This was probably the best match that I ever wrestled. This was at the regionals. The winner of this match goes to the sectionals; the loser in done for the year. I won 3-2. My opponent had beaten me earlier in the year 8-0. The key here was that my girlfriend Susan was in the crowd. I never lost a match that she was at. Too bad she did not go to too many. She was in the band at Conant and had to play at the basketball games that were at the same time as my wrestling matches. Posted by Picasa

1987 SHS Wrestling Team

This is the 1987 Schaumburg High School Mullet team. I wrestled 167 this year. I had a pretty good season until I chocked at the Sectionals. I blew a huge lead in my first match. I posted this picture instead of a nice team picture because of Dave Woolard. He is the one with the giant arm. Look how much bigger he is than I am. Later in season while practicing escapes I called Dave a "Big Fat smelly pussy". He threw me so hard on my head. My ear surgery was three weeks later. What the hell was I thinking? Posted by Picasa

Skin and Bones

Compare the pictures from my girlfriend post to this one. This one was also taken Junior year. I am wearing a varsity uniform with the number nine. The ninth wrestler in our line-up would have wrestled 155. I had to starve myself to get to that weight. My body fat percent was about 1%. During soccer season I weighed over 170. After practice I would go home and eat almost nothing then put on my gear and run to my girlfriend's house. I would do my homework with her, then I would run home. The round trip was about 3 miles. That was not a good season for me. I lacked the energy to compete. Posted by Picasa

My High School Girlfriend

I have not taken many picture lately, so I can't post anything recent. I figured that I have shown some pretty funny pictures of myself: a recent one with a mullet wig, and the one from nerd day. Here is proof that the geeks get the chicks. Here I am Junior year with my girlfriend. I must have just come from a soccer game since I am in uniform. Posted by Picasa

Time for a geek post!

I have been very interested in XML and RSS feeds. XML stands for Extensible Markup Language. I don't know much about this yet. I think that RSS stands for Real Simple Syndication. This one I have been able to use. I have noticed that some of my favorite websites has a small icon stating that they have a RSS feed. You can receive this feed by using a news aggregator. Last night I tried Sharp Reader. It was pretty cool. What it does is it notifies you when a site that you have subscribed to has been updated. The host of my blog, Blogger, has a RSS feed for all of it's blogs. So, you can subscribe to my blog using your news aggregator. All you do is enter my URL: WWW. Radersrants.com.

Happy RSSing

Revenge of the Nerds?

OK, I DID NOT DRESS LIKE THIS EVERY DAY!!!! It was nerd day at high school during spirit week. What is funny is that one of the hall monitors did not recognize and pulled the "kick me" sign off of my back. It was hard keep the TP attatched to my shoe as well. What was funny was that I went to my step dad and told him that I needed to borrow some of his clothes because it was nerd day.

More Woody Acres

I would say that next to sledding, hay rides where the most fun at Woody Acres. What is funny about the hay rides that we would go on was that there was no hay. The red building in the back with the green roof is the ckicken coop. Behind the tree with the brown leaves is the Nature Center. When ever I think of the peacocks at Woody Acres, I think of them being in that tree. Anytime that I hear the call of a peacock, I think of this place.

This picture has the most fowl, crewl, bad tempered creature I have ever met. No, I don't mean my brother slim when he was still slim. It is the GOOSER!! That goose gave me nightmares as a kid. We would have to plan or way out of the house based on where the gooser was. This goose would hunt you down and come and bite you in the ass. It would leave a bruise! Oh yeah, and by the way. What is on Bob's head?

I thought Grandpa's birthday was in June. This picute is taken in front of the large picture window in the front room. To grandpa's right is their stereo. That thing was the size of one of my dressers. This one may have been modern enough to have an 8 track player. It didn't matter though. We used the record player to play train songs and act like trains on the carpet.
Here is Grandma with a lamb. It could be Charlie. There is a nice shot of the Nature Center (I did a good job painting it hun?) in the background.

I am a cool nerd according to this test:

Take the test

Modern, Cool Nerd
52 % Nerd, 52% Geek, 17% Dork

As you can see, I gave this test my 121%
For The Record:

A Nerd is someone who is passionate about learning/being smart/academia.
A Geek is someone who is passionate about some particular area or subject, often an obscure or difficult one.
A Dork is someone who has difficulty with common social expectations/interactions.
You scored better than half in Nerd and Geek, earning you the title of: Modern, Cool Nerd.

Nerds didn't use to be cool, but in the 90's that all changed. It used to be that, if you were a computer expert, you had to wear plaid or a pocket protector or suspenders or something that announced to the world that you couldn't quite fit in. Not anymore. Now, the intelligent and geeky have eked out for themselves a modicum of respect at the very least, and "geek is chic." The Modern, Cool Nerd is intelligent, knowledgable and always the person to call in a crisis (needing computer advice/an arcane bit of trivia knowledge). They are the one you want as your lifeline in Who Wants to Be a Millionaire (or the one up there, winning the million bucks)!

Guess what we found in the garage?

This is the second year in a row that we found Couch's Spade Foot Toads in the garage. Mary Catherine was going in the garage to get some gatorade and spotted a toad. I caught it to show the kids. These toads can be deadly to dog if eaten, so I am a little nervous for our dog during the monsoons. I put the toad in a bucket and showed the kids. Then I let it go at the bottom of the driveway. When I got to the top of the driveway, there was another toad--weird.

This picture was taken on January 15th, 1910. The caption that I have for this picture is: Standing left to right: Stanley Capek, Anna Uhlik, Anton Rader, Camilla Rader Capek. Sitting Left to Right Vaclav Rader, (?) Kychlovsky

I am told that the people whoa re getting married are my great grandparents, the rest are my grea great aunt and great great unclesPosted by Picasa

I thought this was a cool shot of Allison. As you can see, she really doesn't like the Merry-Go-Round. Posted by Picasa

We went to the carnival. Anthony got gutsy and tried the swings with Patrick. As you can see, Patrick had fun on the ride, but Anthony held on for dear life.  Posted by Picasa

This is from our second trip to the San Pedro house. Anthony was afraid of a plant touching him. We would let out a scream if the path was covered by a plat. This ticked off a bird watcher. My dad and I had words with him. We told him to see if he could keep a 7 year old quiet on a nature walk. The birder said "then don't bring 7 year olds" to the nature preserve. Anthony now does not want to go back there because of this guy. I say I found out when this guy goes bird watching, and I bring Anthony's whole class.  Posted by Picasa

My sweet wife gathered up a lot of stuff to send to the victims of the hurricane. As you can see, our van is loaded. My command at work sent two 28 foot trucks loaded with stuff to LA. They plan on sending stuff every week for a while. Posted by Picasa
